Writes the guides on Furniture Deals: sizes checked against the listings, prices and ratings read from Amazon India.
A dressing table with mirror and lights is sold on the look of the mirror, but it is used sitting down, so the measurements that matter are the sitting ones: table height 30 inches (75 cm) so knees fit under it on an 18-inch stool, and a mirror whose centre is at eye level when seated, about 46 to 48 inches from the floor. Lights go down the sides, where they light the face evenly; a strip above the mirror lights the forehead and shadows the eyes.

The lights
Bulbs down both sides (the “Hollywood” style): the most even light for make-up. Look for 6 to 10 bulbs a side, warm white (3000 K) or adjustable.
An LED strip behind the mirror edge: a soft glow, good for a bedroom at night, weaker for make-up.
A dimmer and colour switch on the mirror: worth having, because daylight white and warm white show make-up differently.
Power: a lit mirror needs a socket within a metre. Check whether the lights are mains-powered or USB, and whether the cable is hidden.
Drawers and storage
At least two drawers, one shallow with dividers for jewellery and brushes, one deep for bottles. A stool that tucks under the table saves floor; a table with a lift-up top and a mirror inside saves the wall.
What to check in the listing
Mirror: glass, not acrylic, with the size stated.
Material: most lit dressing tables on Amazon are engineered wood; solid sheesham ones are heavier (30 to 50 kg) and dearer. The weight line tells you.
Stool included or not, and its seat height (18 inches for a 30-inch table).
Bulb type replaceable or sealed LED, and the warranty on the lights.
